Aleksanteri Institute
The Aleksanteri Institute is the Finnish Centre for Russian and Eastern European Studies. It is affiliated with the University of Helsinki and operates as a national centre of research, study and expertise pertaining to Russia and Eastern Europe, particularly in the social sciences and humanities. The institute co-ordinates and promotes co-operation and interaction between the academic world, public administration, business life and civil society in Finland and abroad.
Barents Institute
The Barents Institute is dedicated to the study of the Barents Region, i.e. the northern regions of the Nordic countries and NW Russia. It conducts multidisciplinary research in the humanities and in social and political sciences. Its research scope includes the sustainable use of natural resources, the protection of cultural diversity, and the quality of life of those residing in the far north. Its main focus is on cross-border issues.
Belarusian State Technological University
The Belarusian State Technological University is one of the leading educational and scientific centers of the Republic of Belarus. It was founded in 1930. Now the University is a large, dynamically-developing multi-profile educational and scientific center in the Republic of Belarus with a wide scope of activities, training highly competitive specialists for the following domains: forestry and utilization of forest resources; chemical technologies and bio-technologies; special-purpose machines and equipment; automated control systems; engineering industry; metrology; standardization and certification; printing and publishing; economics; power engineering; professional training.
Belarus State University of Transport
Belarus State University of Transport ( up to 1993 – Belarusian Institution of Railway Transport Engineers) was established in 1953. The university is located in Gomel that is one of the most beautiful places of the Belarus Polesye. The university is a leading educational and research center of transport and building complex of the republic. Regional educational branches are situated in Brest, Vitebsk, and Minsk.
Center for European Studies (CFE)
Centre for European Studies (CFE) at Lund University was founded in 1997 and is a network organisation for co-operation between faculties, departments and researchers, primarily within the faculties of the social sciences, humanities, economics and law. Our aim is to encourage research, education, and long-term competence on Europe within the University, but also to develop the external contacts of the University, both nationally and internationally. The Centre has a vital role to play for Lund University's European profile, and connects around two hundred scholars that have declared an interest in the field of European Studies.

Center of Cross-Border and Interregional Cooperation by Higher School of Economics St. Petersburg branch was founded in 2010. The main aim of the center is to carry out research and expert activity on cross-border cooperation, to conduct applied and theoretical research on cross-border cooperation.
European University Cyprus (EUC)
European University Cyprus (EUC) has a reputation for excellence and innovation in teaching and research in the South- Eastern Euro Mediterranean area. With an emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches, EUC is one of the leading academic and research institutions in Cyprus. It developed out of Cyprus College, which was founded in 1961 by I. Gregoriou. However, on 12 September 2007, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus rendered a decision for the establishment and operation of European University Cyprus, and licensed it to start its operation as of 1 October 2007, with four Schools, namely, the School of Arts and Education Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Sciences. All undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered are recognized nationally and internationally. Finland Futures Research Centre
Finland Futures Research Centre (FFRC) is a special unit of the University of Turku. The FFRC refines visionary knowledge regarding alternative futures and the challenges and possibilities included in them. The Centre offers analytical futures-oriented information in interesting formats to back up its clients futures processes. The Centre's academic research focuses mainly on such themes as foresight, environmental and energy research, innovations, social and cultural research and research on creative industries. Through education and development projectsthe Centre offers its clients the tools to forecast future developments and control those change processes. Systematic futures knowledge is useful in, for example, strategic vision and scenario projects. The Centre offers graduate and doctoral students study programmes on futures studies and on responsible business.

Institute of Europe of Kaunas University of Technology
Institute of Europe of Kaunas University of Technology has a status of University's Institute. Institute is responsible for multidisciplinary Master's studies programme in European Integration; co-ordinates and makes research of European integration in cultural, social and economic domains, accumulates and disseminates official information on the European Union; participates in the European Union Jean Monnet projects; joins the European Union information network; pursues consulting and educative activities at large.
Institute of Radiobiology of NAS of Belarus
The Institute of Radiobiology of NAS of Belarus was founded in 1987 to solve the problems that appeared after the Chernobyl disaster. The main directions of scientific and technical activities and research of the Institute are: study of the mechanism of the ionizing radiation effect on an organism with the aim to develop the methods of increasing its radioresistance; study of the laws of radionuclides accumulation and deducing and creation of the methods to influence these processes; assessment of the health effects of radiation and ecological situation.

University of Oulu, Thule Institute

University of Tampere
The University of Tampere embraces many fields of sciences and arts and profiles itself on the multidisciplinary study of society and health. It is the biggest provider of higher education in Finland for the social sciences and the accompanying administrative sciences.
Some 15,200 students are currently pursuing degrees at the University of Tampere. Every year approximately one thousand master's degrees and one hundred doctoral degrees are produced. The personnel number is about 2,100.

University of Tartu
University of Tartu has a long history dating back to 1632 when under the Swedish reign /Academia Gustaviana/ it was established in order to provide higher education in theology, medicine, law and natural sciences. At present, the University has appr. 3000 employees and 18 000 students; it also has 10 faculties with 22 departments and 32 institutes.
Alongside with continuing the development in its traditional fields of research (most well-known of them are molecular and cell-biology, genetic technology, environmental technology, semiotics, etc.), the University conducts high-quality interdisciplinary research in the most innovative fields of contemporary sciences, including social and human sciences.

Vytautas Magnus University
Vytautas Magnus University, established in 1922 (reestablished in 1989) is one of the most liberal and modern universities in Lithuania, having liberal studies policy, seeking and establishing successful international relations with other universities all over the world. In 1991 the university was the first in Lithuania to establish in a system of study based on several levels, the completion of which resulted in the granting of Bachelor's or Master's degrees, as well as the Doctoral degrees. The feature of this university still remains exceptional in Lithuania today: this is a liberal policy for studies, according to which students are admitted not into specific specializations but into fields of study. The students themselves put together their plan of study and make a final choice of their program after the first two years of study. Particular attention is given to foreign languages and computer skills thus making this university different from other schools of higher education in the country.

The Arctic Centre founded 1989 at the University of Lapland is a national and international hub of information and centre of excellence, which conducts multidisciplinary research in changes in the Arctic region and in their impacts. About 50 researchers, communicators and other professionals work at the Arctic Centre.
Flensburg University of Applied Sciences
Way up north – and way up in research and teaching Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (FUAS) currently provides nearly four thousand students in thirteen bachelor and seven master degree programmes in an innovative and practical learning environment.
Internarional Barents Secretariat
The purpose of the International Barents Secretariat is to provide technical support for the multilateral coordinated activities within the framework of the Barents Euro-Arctic Council and the Barents Regional Council. Barents cooperation will gain more coherence and efficiency after the establishment of the Secretariat.
